Written Evidence:My investigation focuses on experimentation with surreal imagery using proportion, scale, and time. Throughout my portfolio, I explored the visualization of movement and time. In images 1-2 I highlighted the distinction between reality and one’s thoughts by utilizing proportion and digitally painted clouds to mimic being lost in your thoughts. Subsequently, images 3-4 shows a person losing track of time by using clouds to establish a connection between the two previous images. Image 5, forms the illusion of repeating portals and the use of gure to ground relationship, to create contrast in the foreground. This evolves into a childhood driven concept in image 6, reinforcing the vulnerability of nostalgia. Images 7-8 examines how time consumes a person by exhibiting a 40’s portrait and a continuation of clock imagery. Muted tones in images 9-13 and the motif of a hypnotic spiral alludes to an alternate universe where we are blindsided with innite time. Image 14 reintroduces color by having each section of the outt represent a different decade. Image 15 highlights movement using long exposures surrounding the model implying how time moves around us but the present is constant.
